HUTCHINSON — Salinan Tate Herrenbruck, a junior at Sacred Heart, won The Trusted Choice Big “I” National Championship on Tuesday at Prairie Dunes.

Abby Glynn, of Topeka, won the girls 13 and over division of the two-day tournament, which featured top players from across the state.

Herrenbruck, who helped Sacred Heart win the Class 2A state title this past season, finished with a two-round total of 140, even par.

“It’s just good to know that I can finish and win a tournament and do it on a hard course in Kansas. “I can win at a hard place in Kansas," Herrenbruck said. “I thought it was in great shape and a lot of fun,” Herrenbruck said. “The course was perfect and good to score on. It wasn’t as hard as it normally is. It was fun.”
