Blushing Artiste

What: Bring your friends to Garden City Arts and have a glass of wine and light hors d’oeuvres while creating a painting that you can take home at the end of the night. No previous art experience is needed as the instructor will provide easy to follow, step-by-step instructions. Participants will paint on 14-by-18 stretched canvases. Participants must be 21 or older.

When: 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday

Where: Garden City Arts, 318 N. Main St.

Cost: $35 for non-members or $30 for Garden City Arts members. The organization requires payment upon enrollment.

Garden City Farmers Market

What: Farmer's Market, featuring a variety of home-grown produce, hand-crafted items, homemade foods and Colorado fruits for sale.

When: 7 a.m. to noon Saturday

Where: Parking lot of Westlake Ace Hardware, 1210 Fleming St.


First Friday/Food Truck Fridays

What: The Downtown Vision’s Monthly Food Truck Fridays, where various food truck vendors will be lined up on Heroes Way, near Stevens Park.

When: 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday

Where: Downtown Garden City.


First Friday Art Walk

What: The Garden City Arts’ First Friday Art Walk. Participants can come and go at their leisure at each art stop between the hours listed.

When: 5 to 7 p.m. at Patrick Dugan’s Coffee Shop, 301 N. Main St., with featured artist Moe Paw; 6 to 8 p.m. at Garden City Arts, 318 N. Main St., with the featured exhibit “(Human) Nature” by Darren Morawitz.

Harvest Flea Market

What: Harvest Flea Market combines a farmers market and flea market experience, with 300 spaces for vendors offering food, furniture, artwork and more.

When: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. The flea market dates run May through October.

Where: The west end of the Finney County Fairgrounds parking lot.

Admission: $1.


Touch a Truck

What: The Finney County Public Library's Touch a Truck, a family friendly event that provides a fun way for families to explore vehicles they have seen in movies, books or just driving down the street. There will be emergency vehicles, forklifts, tow trucks, and several others.

When: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday

Where: Finney County Fairgrounds parking lot.


Stevens Park Concert Series

What: Sponsored by the City of Garden City and the Garden City Recreation Commission, the series presents free concerts each Saturday during the summer. This week, Al Miller will perform.

When: 6:30 p.m. Saturday

Where: Stevens Park bandshell.


Silver Screen Saturday Night

What: Garden City Recreation Commission presents “The Emoji Movie.”

When: Movies start at dusk on Saturday nights.

Where: Stevens Park in downtown Garden City

Cost: Free and open to the public.
