The Live Wires-Empire Best 4H club held its June meeting at the McPherson County Fairgrounds in Canton, on June 10.  

The meeting was called to order by V-Pres, Lane McMannis.  The Flag Salute and 4H Pledge were then given. Roll Call was answered by "What is your favorite part about summer?”  12 members, three leaders and five guests and parents were present at the meeting. Reading of the May meeting minutes were read and approved. No communication was read, so we moved on to Officer reports.  

Treasurer Report: Sage Toews gave the treasurer’s report.


Isom Marston stated he would be submitting today’s meeting. 

Old Business:

Shaw family spoke about our Educational Trip to Kaufman Museum in October. It was tabled till next month. The Kruse family is working up plans for the Club Banner for the 4-H fair, Geared for Greatness. The club will complete this during the July club meeting.

New Business:

American Legion Night will be June 18th and each member will need to sell 5 tickets. LW/EB club has been asked to been 80 deserts for that night. The Toews family will be organizing the concessions for the McPherson County Fair and every club family will need to sign up to help, similar to the past. Items will be ordered from Sam’s Club and Evco. The club voted to remove Wiens from bank account and update it with McMannis at the Citizen State Bank.


Isom Marston gave a talk on “Preparing for Calving Kit for Calving Season.”


Wesley Prieb asked “What is the smallest room in the world? - A mushroom.” Announcements were then read and meeting was adjourned by repeating the club’s motto, "To Make the Best Better."
