A Garden City man was arrested on Wednesday on various allegations, including attempted first degree murder after he struck an unconscious man with his vehicle in a restaurant parking lot.

At 10 p.m. Wednesday, the Garden City Police Department responded to Taqueria El Compa, 519 W. Mary St. for a reported fight in progress in the parking lot between two males. As police responded, dispatch advised police that one of the males had possibly struck the other with a car and fled the scene.

When officers arrived on scene, they identified the two males involved as Braden Spillman, 20, and Melchor Dominguez, 20.

Further investigation revealed Dominguez began fighting Spillman and during the fight, Spillman lost consciousness. Evidence obtained from security cameras showed Dominguez driving his vehicle at Spillman, almost pinning him between another vehicle, reversing away causing Spillman to be thrown to the ground and driving at him and striking him, according to the GCPD. Spillman received minor injuries.

Dominguez was located on Thursday and arrested without incident, and could face possible charges of attempted second degree murder, aggravated battery, aggravated assault and battery.
