The American Heart Association and Amerigroup Foundation will offer a free hands-only CPR training clinic from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Kearny County Airport, 1662 Road T, Lakin.
Two trainers will hold 30-minute sessions throughout the day, teaching participants the rate at which they should press on a patient’s chest by syncing it to music. Training sessions will begin at 9:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.
The event also will have learning stations and labs where attendees can learn how to operate an automated external defibrillator and practice manual CPR techniques on mannequins connected to laptops that can score and provide feedback to participants.
The clinic is part of the American Heart Association’s Hands-Only CPR campaign.
