Coffee with Caregivers
What: Hosted by the Leave A Legacy Foundation, this is a support group for those caring for loved ones with cancer. This is a place where you can come for support, share experiences, ask questions and be with others who share the same concerns.
When: 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday

What: Featuring cooking demonstrations and tips on ways to choose the healthiest ingredients, make food more appealing and spark appetites. The free program is open to the public, but registration is requested.

What: Bring your friends to Garden City Arts and have a glass of wine and light hors d’oeuvres while creating a painting that you can take home at the end of the night. No previous art experience is needed as the instructor will provide easy to follow, step-by-step instructions. Participants will paint on 14-by-18 stretched canvases. Participants must be 21 or older.
When: 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday

What: The Garden City Area Chamber of Commerce’s Legislative Coffee series features area state lawmakers, who provide details about what’s happening in Topeka during the legislative session, followed by a question-and-answer session. The event is free to the public, and breakfast will be provided by St. Catherine Hospital.
When: 10 a.m. Saturday
Where: St. Catherine Hospital, 401 E. Spruce St., in Classroom B in the lower level of the facility. Follow the stairs down to the lower level from the cafeteria. Attendees can park in the west parking lot and enter through the west doors. An elevator is also available.

Veterans book signing
What: Bring your copy of The Garden City Telegram's "Called to Serve" book and get it signed by some special guests who are featured in the book, including World War II veterans Burl Loving and Perry Garten of Garden City and Vietnam veteran Steve Morris of Hugoton. Books also will be available for purchase. Refreshments will be served.

Endangered Species Day
What: Lee Richardson Zoo’s Endangered Species Day celebration will include a scavenger hunt to identify the 12 endangered species that call the zoo home, and Discovery Carts will be available to explore. For more information on Endangered Species Day, visit www.endangeredspeciesday.org.

YMCA 'Schools Out Bash'
What: The Garden City Family YMCA’s "School’s Out Bash," which will feature inflatables, carnival games, swimming, drawings, and prizes, as well as hot dogs, chips and drinks while they last.
