Warm, summer-like weather will continue for the next week in the Topeka area, with highs expected in the 90-degree range over the next seven days.

There is a slight chance for thunderstorms overnight Thursday and again Friday night. The weather service said there is a risk for severe storms Friday night and into the early morning hours of Saturday.

Thursday: Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 88. Light southeast wind becoming south 10 to 15 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph.

Friday: Partly sunny, with a high near 92. Breezy, with a south wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 35 mph.

Friday night: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 1 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 69. South wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.

Saturday: Partly sunny, with a high near 89.
