Crews will begin a resurfacing project on Kansas Highway 96 from the east city limits of Leoti continuing east to the four-lane concrete in Scott City on Tuesday.

The highway will be reduced to one lane guided by a pilot car during work hours, with an approximate delay of 15 minutes during the project. The Kansas Department of Transportation urges drivers to be alert, pay attention to all work zone warning signs, slow down when approaching a work zone and be prepared to stop.

APAC Shears of Hutchinson contracted the $2.9 million project, with expected completion in August.
