Franklin County property owners’ second half tax payments are due May 10.

The tax statements were mailed in November with the first half taxes due in December, according to county treasurer’s office news release.

Property owners are asked to send the remittance stub from the bottom of the tax statement with the payment, according to the release. Also, indicate on the stub if a paid receipt is needed. The treasurer’s office, 315 S. Main St., room 107, is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, to accept tax payments.

If the statement is lost, call the treasurer’s office, (785) 229-3450, for the amount due and the tax ID number. A copy of the statement can be emailed or mailed upon request, the release said.

If the 2017 first-half tax has not been paid, interest is due, the release said.
