Youth swimmers of all levels (age 5 to 18) are invited to participate in the Garden City Family YMCA Swim Camp April 23 to 27.
Children must be able to swim the length of a 25-yard pool to participate. The structure will be split by age with a 10 and younger group, and an 11 and older group. The last day of camp will be ran as a mock meet, where the kids will get the chance to race against each other.
Swimmers must bring a swim cap, goggles and a water bottle, and females must wear a one-piece swim suit. Goggles, caps and water bottles are available for purchase at the YMCA. Cost to participate is $30 for members and $60 for program participants/non-members.
YMCA Youth Water Safety Classes (age 6 months to 14) also begin April 23. The deadline to register is Tuesday. Participants may register after the deadline with a $10 extended registration fee. Class times depend on age group and skill level. Cost is $28 for members, $56 for program participants and $20 for those on free or reduced school lunches.
