Students and families can hear a motivational speaker and connect with community organizations at Garden City High School’s Reach Out, Give Back event on April 18.

The event, open to all Garden City students and families, will run 5 to 8 p.m. at GCHS and will offer events for all ages. Organized by the high school’s counseling department, it is meant to connect families with various organizations in the community.

At the beginning of the night, there will be an informational fair for all attendees along with dinner and a raffle. At that time, parents and families will get to connect with organizations specializing in local public safety, health, recreation, district and community education, early childhood services, business, charity and politics.

At 6:30 p.m., activities will be available for students in grades K-6 while parents and students in grades 7 and up will listen to inspirational speaker Jared Estes, a car crash victim who found physical and mental rehabilitation through optimism and gratitude. Babysitting for children from birth to preschool ages will be available.

Money raised from the dinner and raffles will be donated to Garden City’s Family Crisis Services and Oasis of Peace Center.
