A meet and greet reception for artist Robin Valenzuela of Garden City is planned for 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Main ARTery, 103 S. Main St. in Ulysses.

Valenzuela's art works will be on exhibit at the art gallery from Tuesday through April 30.

Color and texture play an active part in Valenzuela’s artwork, with many of her abstract works incorporating illustrative shapes, hard edges and softer random self-forming masses. Her paintings show humor and flippant surprises that entice the viewer.

She holds an associate's degree from Garden City Community College and one in apparel design and illustration from Wade College in Dallas. For 15 years, she worked as a graphic designer and pre-press expert for a small printing company. She now works full-time as an artist and freelance graphic designer. She is an active member of Garden City Arts.
