A truck driver died Wednesday afternoon after authorities said he suffered a medical problem and crashed his vehicle in McPherson County.
The crash occurred at 2 p.m. Wednesday on Interstate 135, about 12 miles north of the city of McPherson.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol's crash log, a 2006 Freightliner semi was northbound on I-135 when the driver suffered a medical condition.
The vehicle struck the guardrail on the east side of the roadway and continued into the ditch, running through a fence and coming to reset in a wheat field.
The driver of the semi, Roger Bloyd, 63, of Salina, was pronounced dead at the scene. The patrol said Bloyd was wearing a seat belt.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
