Lt. Gov. Tracey Mann will be visiting Garden City High School Friday morning to discuss an executive order that was recently signed 18-10 by Gov. Jeff Colyer to create a Governor’s Education Council with the purpose of improving outcomes for Kansas kids.
Mann plans to arrive at GCHS at 8:30 a.m.
The council will provide a platform connecting educators from pre-K through higher education with state policy makers and leaders in the business community. Their mission will include promotion of policies and strategies to effectively prepare students to successfully enter and thrive in the rapidly changing 21st century workforce.
Mann will take a short tour of the high school before speaking to a group of student leaders, along with a number of faculty members.
