Garden City High School’s inaugural Empty Bowls fundraiser, an event to raise awareness for hunger in the community, is scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the high school.
The GCHS student council is partnering with the Finney County United Way and the Garden City Community College Art Department, to put on the dinner, which will include soup, bread, salad and dessert. Entertainment will be provided by the GCHS Modern Show Choir and a representative from the local Food 4 Kids program will speak.
After the dinner, attendees will be able to take home a bowl of their choice that has been glazed uniquely by GCHS students. All proceeds will go to the Food 4 Kids program.
Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at the GCHS main office or the United Way office, 1509 E. Fulton St.
