An immigration symposium is scheduled for Feb. 8 at the Finnup Center, 312 Finnup Drive, in Garden City.
Registration for the symposium is free, but lunch will cost $15. The presentation will focus on the current state of immigration law and involve discussion of potential upcoming changes, non-immigrant visa categories and how they apply, and the process toward permanent residency on the basis of employment and family relationships.
The featured speaker will be Donald D. Berner, an attorney who advises employers on various human resources issues, including a wide range of immigration and nationality issues.
