Geometric Mutations

What: The January art exhibit at Garden City Community College's Mercer Gallery, featuring the work of Trey Morgan, a graphic designer and freelance artist from Kansas City, Mo. The show is a collection of work generated from a combination of analog and digital sources, evoking a sense of the sublime through digital mutation.

When: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday; 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday

Where: Mercer Gallery, GCCC

Water Technology Expo

What: Farmers and ranchers in southwest Kansas who want to learn more about improving water management through technology, soil moisture monitoring, crop selection and other tools can attend the Winter Water Technology Expo. The event will feature a variety of companies and organizations focused on water technology issues and opportunities. Attendees will be eligible for numerous door prizes. Hors d’oeuvres and Kansas beer and distillery beverages will be provided.

When: 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday

Second Friday Film

What: The Second Friday Film series continues with a documentary filmed in 2016 about the great American ballerina Wendy Whelan.

When: 7 p.m. Friday

Where: Finney County Public Library, 605 E. Walnut St.

Cost: Free, and attendees are encouraged to bring snacks to share.


Fiddlers, Pickers and Singers

What: The High Plains Country Music Fiddlers, Pickers and Singers will have its monthly program. All area musicians are welcome, and there will be a short break for snacks; feel free to bring a snack to share.

When: Sign-up at 1 p.m. Sunday, with the program starting at 2 p.m.
