FCYP lunch mixer
What: The Finney County Young Professionals’ first ever lunch mixer. The topic will be on income taxes. All of the Finney County community is invited, and you do not have to be a FCYP member to attend.
The FYCP Lunch Mixers will take place approximately once a month for one hour and will include a speaker presentation for 20 to 30 minutes and then networking/socializing opportunities for the remainder of the hour. Speaker topics will vary depending on suggestions by both FCYP members and professionals and others in the community.
When: Noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, with another session from 6 to 7 p.m. that night.
Where: Ward's Garden Cafe, 2703 N. Taylor Plaza.
What: Habitat For Humanity is hosting a painting day for painting the interior walls of its newest HFH house on 10th Street. It is not necessary to bring anything, but those who attend are encouraged to wear old clothes.
When: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday
Where: 1206 N. 10th St.
What: The Garden City Area Chamber of Commerce’s Legislative Coffee series featuring area state lawmakers who provide details about what’s happening in Topeka during the legislative session, followed by a question-and-answer session allowing the public to ask questions. The event is free to the public, and breakfast will be provided by St. Catherine Hospital.
When: 10 a.m. Saturday
Where: St. Catherine Hospital, 401 E. Spruce St., in Classroom B in the lower level of the facility. Follow the stairs down to the lower level from the cafeteria. Attendees can park in the west parking lot and enter through the west doors. An elevator is also available.
