A Ulysses woman and child were injured on Thursday in a Haskell County crash.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, at about 10:20 p.m. Thursday, Suzanne Ortiz, 39, of Ulysses, was traveling eastbound on 50th Road in Haskell County, when for an unknown reason, the 1998 Ford SUV she was driving entered the south ditch and struck a culvert, went airborne, and came to rest on its top facing southwest.
She was taken to Wesley Medical Hospital for her injuries. Also in the vehicle with Ortiz was Jasmine Ortiz, 9, who was was taken to St. Catherine Hospital for her injuries.
As of press time, both of their conditions were not available.
Both were wearing their seat belts, according to the KHP report.
