The Garden City Area Chamber of Commerce is accepting nominations for the 2018 Board of Directors.
According to the Chamber, an ideal candidate is someone who is a member or employed by an active member business in good standing with the Chamber.
The deadline for nominations is 5 p.m. Oct. 9. They may be emailed to Interim President Kathleen Whitley at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The board is made up of 19 individuals who are responsible for formulating and reviewing various policies, proposed actions, programs and projects that serve in the best interest of the Chamber members and the community. The board sets policy, oversees the budget and helps guide the Chamber team as they work to provide connections, resources and solutions to help the region's businesses prosper.
Following the nomination period, the Chamber will send a ballot to each Chamber member who can then submit votes back to the chamber. The incoming board members will begin their terms in January 2018.
