Downtown Garden City will be filled to the brim on Saturday with plenty of activities to keep the whole family busy with the Downtown Vision’s annual Fall Fest and the Knights of Columbus Oktoberfest.

“We have a great variety of vendors for this year’s event located in the downtown district,” said Myca Bunch, executive director of Downtown Vision. “We have the very popular food vendors, ranging from traditional street fare to unique international cuisine. And the favorite Knights of Columbus Oktoberfest food court will feature all types of German food on Grant Avenue.”

More than 90 vendors offering everything from jewelry, bath & body products, children’s accessories, baked goods and more will be lined up and down the center of Main Street and in Stevens Park. The festival opens at 9:30 a.m. and will end at 4 p.m.

Free children’s game and activities will be featured at KidsFest in Stevens Park throughout the day. Kids of all ages can enjoy face painting; Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) activities.

Similar to past years, an entertainment area will be set up at the intersection of Main and Laurel streets and will include performances from local dancers, gymnastics organizations and the Garden City Community College and Garden City High School bands.

Buck-a-duck races for the kids will start at 10:45 a.m, giving kids the opportunity to race a duck for $1, with the winner of each heat receiving a $10 prize.

At 1 p.m., the annual Nasduck 500 race heats will get under way, with a winner-take-all prize of $1,000. Tickets for both events will be available at the race.
