The Kansas Department of Transportation is scheduled to begin the resurfacing of U.S. Highway 50 beginning at the U.S. Highway 56/283 junction in Ford County and continuing west to the Cimarron city limits on Friday.
U.S. 50 will be reduced to one lane guided by a pilot car during working hours with an approximate delay of 15 minutes during the project, which is expected to be completed by late October. KDOT urges drivers to be alert, pay attention to all work zone warning signs, slow down when approaching a work zone and be prepared to stop.
APAC Kansas Inc. Shears is the primary contractor on the project at an approximate cost of $3.1 million.
