A Johnson City man was critically injured in an automobile accident Wednesday morning in rural Stanton County.
Candee L C Amerin, 49, was eastbound in her Toyota Camry on Highway 160 in Stanton County at about 8 a.m. Wednesday, when Mark T. Stephenson, 60, who was also eastbound on his bicycle, turned north in front of Amerin onto Airport Road, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol. Amerin swerved to try to avoid Stephenson but struck him regardless. Heavy fog is believed to have played a role in the collision, according to the KHP.
The KHP reported that Stephenson was disabled in the accident and transported to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. He was listed in critical condition in intensive care as of Wednesday afternoon.
