The Kansas Department of Transportation will begin highway resurfacing of U.S. Highway 50 beginning at the Cimarron east city limits and continuing east to the U.S. 56/283 junction in Ford County. Resurfacing is scheduled to begin July 24.

U.S. 50 will be reduced to one lane guided by a pilot car during working hours with an approximate delay of 15 minutes during the project. The project is expected to be completed by late October, weather permitting.

APAC Kansas Inc. Shears is the primary contractor on the project, with an approximate construction cost of $3.1 million.
