TRIBUNE -- Frances Dale Simpson, 83, died Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010, in Tribune.He was born Jan. 27, 1927, in Scott City, to Sidney P. and Cecile Pringle Simpson.
A lifetime resident of Tribune, Mr. Simpson was the retired owner/pilot of Simpson AERO. He was a charter member and former president of the Kansas Assoc-iation of Aerial App-licators, served as secretary to the National Aerial Applicators Association in 1968 and was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.
On Nov. 26, 1966, he married Gloria Ortega in Tribune. She survives. Other survivors include a son, Eric Simpson of Meridan; two daughters, Herlinda M. Donelson of Olathe, and Delores "Dody" Leonard of Judsonia, Ark.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Robert Simpson; and a sister, Mary Heckert Armstrong.
A memorial service will begin at 10:30 a.m. MST Wednesday at the United Methodist Church in Tribune, with the Revs. Les Ellis, Mark Randolph, Mike Underwood and Ben Martin officiating. Military honors will be provided by the United States Army Honor Guard, Fort Riley. Private graveside services will be held at a later date.
