HUGOTON — James Elias "Jim" Nordyke, 76, died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, at Hillcrest Hospital in Tulsa, Okla.
He was born Aug. 6, 1936, in Hugoton, to Wayne Charles Nordyke and Doris Marie Ridpath Nordyke Betsworth.
Mr. Nordyke was semi-retired, but kept busy working as a cart mechanic at Meadowbrook Country Club in Tulsa. He served in the U.S. Navy.
On June 4, 1955, he married Shirley Ann Perry in Hugoton. On March 29, 1986, he married Ginger Honn in Tulsa. She survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Malissa Hicks; two sons, Scott and Derrick W. Nordyke; two brothers, Clinton D. and Billy E. Nordyke; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four stepchildren, Kathy, Kristi, Billy and Kerri; 10 stepgrandchildren; and a stepgreat-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Phyllis Jean Duncan.
Funeral will begin at 2 p.m. Friday at First Christian Church, Hugoton. Burial will be at Hugoton Cemetery.
