LAKIN — Henry Sanchez, 69, died Monday, Feb. 17, 2014, in Denver City, Texas.

LAKIN — Henry Sanchez, 69, died Monday, Feb. 17, 2014, in Denver City, Texas.

He was born Nov. 15, 1944, in Eden, Texas, to Rodrigo and Matilda Garcia Sanchez.

A resident of Lakin since 1968, Mr. Sanchez was a truck driver.

On April 25, 1966, he married Enedina Flores in Lovington, N.M. She survives. Other survivors include three daughters, Eva Zapata of Deerfield, Nancy Maestas of Denver, and Melody Lucero of Buffalo, Okla.; a son; a brother, Manuel Sanchez of Brady, Texas; four sisters, Rachael Rocha, Rosa Lopez, Julia Chatham and Monica Casas, all of Denver City; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Lily Solis; and two sons, Henry Sanchez Jr. and Leroy Sanchez.

Rosary service will begin at 7 p.m. Thursday at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Lakin. Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be at Lakin Cemetery.
