Carol Werth

Carol J. Werth, of WaKeeney, died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013, at Salina Regional Heath Center.
She was born Dec. 23, 1942, in Liebenthal, to Cornelius and Ursula Legleiter Dechant.
On Nov. 16, 1959, she married Fred H. Werth in Liebenthal. He died Dec. 18, 1974. She also was preceded in death by a son, Steve J. Werth; three brothers, Emerald, LaVerne and Donnie Dechant; and three sisters, Bernice Shaffer, Annie Meder and Delores Dechant.
A homemaker, Mrs. Werth worked at Travenol and First Christian Church in Garden City for many years.
Survivors include three children, Gary J. Werth and Jillaine M. Curry, both of Salina, and Jodie R. Fisher of Council Grove; two brothers, Harry E. Dechant of Hays, and Virgil Dechant of Leawood; three sisters, Peggy Norris of Russell, Rosie Giesick of WaKeeney, and Jeanette Misegadis of Colorado Springs, Colo.; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Service will begin at 3 p.m. today at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Schoenchen. A parish vigil service was 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Brock's North Hill Chapel in Hays. Burial will be at St. Anthony Cemetery.
