Pedro Rutiaga Medina, 47, died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, at his home in Garden City.

He was born Oct. 12, 1965, in Durango, Mexico, to Octaviano and Cresencia Medina Rutiaga.

A Garden City resident since 1993, Mr. Medina worked as a farm laborer and in construction.

Survivors include his mother, Cresencia Medina of Garden City; two brothers, Maximiliano Rutiaga of Liberal, and Alfredo Rutiaga of Garden City; and four sisters, Josefina Munoz and Candelaria Marrufo, both of Garden City, Virginia Rutiaga of Durango, and Juana Rutiaga of Juarez, Mexico. He was preceded in death by his father.

Rosary will begin at 7 p.m. Sunday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Garden City. Funeral Mass will begin at 1 p.m. Monday at the church. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery, Garden City.

Visitation hours are 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City and 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday at the church. Condolences may be emailed to
