Norma Jean Maxwell, 76, of Moscow, died Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013, at Kansas Medical Center in Andover.

Norma Jean Maxwell, 76, of Moscow, died Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013, at Kansas Medical Center in Andover.

She was born July 27, 1937, in Gorman, Texas, to Sug and Nanie Dell Copeland Robinson. She was a 1955 graduate of Eastland High School, Eastland, Texas.

Mrs. Maxwell had worked as a nurse at Memorial Hospital of Texas County in Guymon, Okla., at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal and at Pioneer Manor in Hugoton.

On Aug. 26, 1955, she married Joel Glenn Maxwell in Cisco, Texas. He survives. Other survivors include a son, Randall Lynn Maxwell of Moscow; a daughter, Karen Cress of Liberal; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Marcus Kynn Maxwell; and a brother, Jerry Dale Robinson.

Graveside service will begin at 10 a.m. Monday at Eastland Cemetery in Eastland.

Visitation hours are 5 to 8 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Brenneman Funeral Home in Liberal and 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Edwards Funeral Home in Eastland.
