KALVESTA — Joyce Reed, 77, a farm and ranch wife, died Monday, Dec. 2, 2013, at St. Catherine Hospice in Garden City.

KALVESTA — Joyce Reed, 77, a farm and ranch wife, died Monday, Dec. 2, 2013, at St. Catherine Hospice in Garden City.

She was born June 6, 1936, in Dodge City, to Irvin Wesley and Daisy Ellen Pitts Hendrickson. She graduated from Jetmore High School in 1954.

On Nov. 27, 1954, she married Fredrick Chester Reed in Kalvesta. He died March 12, 2007. She also was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Wesley Morgan Hendrickson.

Survivors include a son, Roger Allan of Garden City; two daughters, Bonnie Sueann Molz and Martha Swank, both of Garden City; a brother, Samuel Hendrickson of Jetmore; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church, Cimarron. Burial will be at Fairmount Cemetery, Jetmore.

Visitation hours are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and Thursday at Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore. Condolences may be left at www.beckwithfuneralhome.com. Memorials are suggested to Kalvesta United Methodist Church or Pawnee Acres Community Club, both in care of the funeral home, Box 663, Jetmore, KS 67854.
