James "Jim" DeLoach, 75, died Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2013, at his home in Lamar, Colo.

James "Jim" DeLoach, 75, died Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2013, at his home in Lamar, Colo.

He was born Nov. 18, 1938, in Garden City, to Hoyt S. and Ethel Burton DeLoach.

Survivors include four children, Mitch DeLoach of Garden City, Keenan and Darren DeLoach, both of Lamar, and Angie Higbee of Carlton, Colo.; four sisters, LaVonne LaFevers of Upland, Calif., LaVerne Goerlich of Gualala, Calif., and LaRoyce Riley and LaNette Gearhart, both of Lamar; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A celebration of life memorial funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. today at Peacock Family Chapel in Lamar. Burial will follow in the veteran's section of Fairmount Cemetery in Lamar with full military honors conducted.

Visitation hours are 9 a.m. to service time today at the chapel. Condolences may be left at www.peacockfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Jim DeLoach Memorial Fund, in care of the funeral home.
