A Garden City man was injured in a one-vehicle accident that occurred Tuesday morning about one-quarter mile east of Deerfield.

Trevor A. Wirth, 31, was taken to Kearny County Hospital after losing control of his vehicle due to slick road conditions. The accident occurred at about 9:35 a.m.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Wirth was driving a 1995 Chevy pickup eastbound on U.S. Highway 50, when he hit an icy spot on the road and entered the south ditch, which caused the vehicle to roll one-quarter time, coming to rest on the driver's side.

Hospital officials would not release information on Wirth's condition.
