MONTEZUMA — Betty Mae Koehn, 83, died Monday, Dec. 16, 2013, at The Shepherd's Center in Cimarron.

MONTEZUMA — Betty Mae Koehn, 83, died Monday, Dec. 16, 2013, at The Shepherd's Center in Cimarron.

She was born Jan. 6, 1930, in Wichita, to Ruth Kunkle Hotz. She was adopted by Dan P. and Hannah Dirks Koehn.

On May 22, 1949, she married Robert Lee Koehn. They lived on a farm southwest of Montezuma. Upon retirement, they moved into Montezuma.

In addition to her husband, survivors include two sons, Cecil Lynn Koehn of Fort Collins, Colo., and Robert L. "Bob" Koehn Jr. of Montezuma; two daughters, Diane Koehn of Flagstaff, Ariz., and Debra Koehn of Montezuma; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three brothers, John Hotz of Garden City, Don Hotz of Colombia, S.C., and George Hotz of Miltonvale; and a sister, Anna Kingsley of Salina. She was preceded in death by her mother and adoptive parents.

Funeral will begin at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Gospel Fellowship Church in Montezuma. Burial will follow at Morningside Cemetery in Montezuma.

Visitation hours are noon to 8 p.m. today at Swaim Funeral Chapel of Montezuma. Thoughts and memories may be shared in the guest book at Memorials are suggested to Montezuma Senior Center, in care of the funeral home.
