GCCC hires Dozier as new director of campus security

Rodney M. Dozier of Garden City started as Garden City Community College director of campus safety on Thursday.

Rodney M. Dozier of Garden City started as Garden City Community College director of campus safety on Thursday.

Dozier has more than 20 years of professional police experience with the Garden City Police Department and is a former military police officer and Marine. Most recently, Dozier served in Kabul, Afghanistan, for DynCorp International, training the Afghanistan National Police.

Dozier has completed numerous law enforcement and specialized training programs, including Managing Criminal Investigations, Basic SWAT Academy in San Diego, Calif.; and Civil Liability for the Patrol Officer through the University of Northern Colorado along with multiple others. Dozier has received numerous awards, including the Good Conduct Medal (U.S. Marine Corp.), Bronze Award of Valor (Garden City Police Department) and Outstanding Law Enforcement Officer of the Year (Garden City Jaycees).

Dozier and his wife, Deborah Dozier, have three adult children: Jennifer Garcia, Jessica Pacheco and Joseph Dozier.
