A Garden City man has been arrested in connection with two bomb threats received by St. Catherine Hospital earlier this year.
Michael Clayton Mann, 38, 830 Ponderosa Court, was arrested Tuesday at the Law Enforcement Center, 304 N. Ninth St., on allegations of two counts of criminal threat.
According to a press release from the Garden City Police Department, at approximately 10:14 a.m. July 20, GCPD received a call in regard to a bomb left in a bathroom at St. Catherine Hospital, 401 E. Spruce St.
Police, along with personnel from the Garden City Fire Department, Kansas Highway Patrol and the hospital, conducted a thorough search of the facility and no suspicious device was located.
On Oct. 10, 2012, police received another call about a bomb being left in a bathroom at the hospital.
Garden City police Sgt. Michael Reagle said that no type of explosive device was located in that incident, either.
After an investigation into these incidents, police arrested Mann, who currently is lodged in the Finney County Jail on an $80,000 bond.
Reagle said he was unable to provide specifics on how Mann was identified as a suspect.
