G.C. man arrested on counterfeiting allegations

A Garden City man has been arrested on an allegation that he was selling counterfeit $100 bills.
Chaston Tarwater, 20, 2709 Pearly Jane Ave., was arrested at 9:20 p.m. Friday in the 1000 block of West Jenny Avenue on an allegation of making false information. According to a news release from the Garden City Police Department, officers had stopped a vehicle Tarwater was in and found him in possession of two counterfeit $100 bills.
From Thursday through Friday, police had responded to multiple businesses that had reported they were given counterfeit $100 bills. During the investigation of these incidents, officers identified Tarwater as a person who was allegedly selling counterfeit $100 bills.
Officers served search warrants for Tarwater's residence, the vehicle Tarwater was in, as well as a residence at 1312 W. Fulton St., No. 3.
