The Garden City Police Department will conduct a DUI saturation patrol tonight within city limits.

The purpose of the patrol is to saturate pre-designated areas with additional police officers who continually monitor vehicular traffic for signs of impaired driving.

The patrols also place an emphasis on speeding, safety belt and other alcohol related violations.

The cost of the saturation patrol is covered through the Impaired Driving Deterrence Program grant provided by the Kansas Department of Transportation.
