Mary Day

SATANTA — Mary Vanna Day, 81, died Friday, Oct. 5, 2012, at Satanta Long Term Care in Satanta.

She was born Nov. 12, 1930, in Henryville, Tenn., to Julius Abner and Velma Antnette Gregg Giles. She graduated from Satanta High School.

On March 30, 1950, she married Jack Day in Garden City. He died in 1977. She also was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Bradley Wayne Day; and her siblings, Aubra Giles, Jettie Lea Giles, Margie Hagerman and J.A. Giles.

Survivors include two daughters, Diana Morisse of Moscow, and Vicki Sinning of Elkhart; two brothers, Clyde Giles of Satanta, and Bud Giles of Fort Worth, Texas; two sisters, Anita Brown of Sublette, and Roberta Lewis of Satanta; 10 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Graveside service was 6 p.m. Friday at Dudley Township Cemetery in Satanta.

Memorials are suggested to Satanta Long Term Care, in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 423 S. Main, Hugoton, KS 67951.
