Albert L. Marker, 92, died Monday, Oct. 8, 2012, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City.
He was born Sept. 3, 1920, in Scott City, to John A. and Elva Harper Marker.
Mr. Marker was a truck driver at Smith Sand Co., a mechanic at Burtis Motors and retired from his long career at Great Plains Chemical/Lextron as a warehouse manager at the age of 80. He was an avid horse lover, a World War II U.S. Army veteran, and a member of the First United Methodist Church and the VFW, both at Garden City.
On May 12, 1951, he married Minnie Hill in Colby. She survives along with his brothers, Gay and Bud Marker, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Earl and Lyle Marker; and a sister, Beatrice Walter.
Funeral will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at the First United Methodist Church in Garden City. Burial will be at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City.
