Suwayne French-Williams

SUBLETTE — Suwayne French-Williams, 78, died Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, in Montezuma.

She was born Dec. 10, 1934, in Dodge City, to Leonard William and Loetta Mary Phoenix Obenhaus. She graduated from Sublette High School.

A Sublette resident since 1937, she served as Haskell County Clerk from 1972 until her retirement in 2000.

On July 20, 1952, she married Russell W. French in Sublette. He died July 29, 1978. On Dec. 18, 1988, she married Robert L. Williams in Sublette. He died Sept. 9, 1990.

Survivors include a son, Russell W. French II of Amarillo, Texas; two daughters, Brona Wiswell and Kamela Wright, both of Montezuma; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral will begin at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Sublette Christian Church. Burial will follow at Haskell County Cemetery in Sublette.

Visitation hours are noon to 8 p.m. today at Swaim Funeral Chapel of Sublette. Thoughts and memories may be shared in the guest book at www.swaimfuneralhome.com. Memorials are suggested to Sublette Christian Church, in care of Swaim Funeral Chapel of Sublette.

I do remember

Suwayne brings back lots of memories for me in my years at Sublette. Her offspring and extended family were very important to me and I am sorry for your loss.
