Charles D. "Charlie" Caron, 80, died Dec. 29, 2012, at Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs, Colo.
He was born June 9, 1932, the son of Gerald Clark Caron and Mary Francis McCoy Caron.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Gary Caron; a niece, Tami Tyner; and his stepmother, Ruby Caron.
Survivors are a son, Samuel Caron and wife, Laura, and daughter; a daughter, Mary Bluemer and husband, Wade, and their children and one great-grandson; his lifetime companion, Norma Jameson and family; a sister, Carol Dailey and husband, Ronald Dailey; a niece, Taryn Sponberg and children; a nephew, Gary Caron and wife, Linda, and their son; a niece, Nicole Gnoczio and husband, Mike, and their children; and two stepsisters, Chloe Bergner and Marceline Dowdell and husband Wayne.
After graduating from high school in Colorado Springs, Charlie served in the U.S. Air Force for 10 years, part of that time he was stationed in Europe. Upon completing his military service, he later married Marian Fuller. They resided in Denver, Colo., with their son and daughter. This marriage later ended in divorce and Charlie moved back to Syracuse, Kan., where he was in business.
The Syracuse area was familiar to Charlie, he went through grade school there and played the drums in his dad's band, starting in his early teens. His father was in business in Syracuse for many years. Later, after his father remarried, the family moved to Colorado Springs where Charlie attended high school. Through the years, Charlie was also a business owner in Denver. He later moved to Lamar, Colo., where he resided until his death. He was a member of the Elks Club in Lamar and enjoyed the activities there. Charlie and Norma had many good friends and neighbors in the Lamar area. His greatest enjoyment in life was visiting with his many friends and family.
Fellers Funeral Home of Syracuse is in charge of arrangements.
