INGALLS — Dee Yakel, 71, of Ingalls, died Monday, Jan. 28, 2013, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City.
She was born Jan. 10, 1942, in Kansas City, Mo., to John Jacob and Mamie Irene Potter Buchholz.
She married LeRoy Dreiling and then married Richard Edwards. On Feb. 29, 1984, she married Lewis H. Yakel in Clayton, N.M. He died Aug. 5, 2002. She also was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Norma Jean Dunkel.
A former resident of Lakin and Garden City, Mrs. Yakel had worked for a long time as a certified nurse's aide at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City.
Survivors include a daughter, Vicki Dreiling of Seattle; two sons, Steve Dreiling and Dicky Edwards, both of Las Vegas, Nev.; a sister, Janice Rodriguez of Ingalls; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Graveside service will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at Lakin Cemetery in Lakin.
