Elaine Owen

DIGHTON — Elaine Owen, 90, died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, at Lane County Hospital in Dighton.

She was born Jan. 31, 1922, in Tylertown, Miss., to Buford B. and Pearl Meadows Breeland. She graduated from high school in Tylertown.

On May 3, 1946, she married Perry D. Owen in Hattiesburg, Miss. He died April 14, 2001. She also was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, a sister and two half sisters.

A Dighton resident since 1947, Mrs. Owen worked for 21 years as the bookkeeper for First State Bank in Healy.

Survivors include a daughter, Candita Sue Bock of Lake Oswego, Ore.; a son, Kerry A. Owen of Scottsdale, Ariz.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at First Christian Church in Dighton.

So sorry for your loss. She was such a great friend to my Mom, Bernice. They'll be telling fishing stories again, we'll see you at the memorial service.
