SCOTT CITY — David Decker, 94, formerly of Scott City, died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, in Paris, Texas.He was born April 19, 1918, in Verden, Okla., to Peter W. and Dena Schmidt Decker.
A resident of Scott City from 1957 until 2004, Mr. Decker was a carpenter and real estate developer.
On May 11, 1941, he married Della Unruh in Marion County. She died March 8, 2007, in Bonners Ferry, Idaho. He also was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Dayton Decker; two sisters; and nine brothers.
Survivors include two sons, Larry and Galen Decker, both of Scott City; three daughters, Mary Holdeman of Detroit, Texas, Lorraine Williams of Bonners Ferry, and Rebecca Koehn of Mountain Grove, Mo.; a sister, Mandena Johnson of Montezuma; a brother, Marvin Decker of Deridder, La.; 22 grandchildren; and 65 great-grandchildren.
Funeral will begin at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Scott Mennonite Church in Pence. Burial will be at Scott Mennonite Church Cemetery in Pence.
