Herman Hinkle

ULYSSES — Herman Hinkle, 76, of Ulysses, died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital in Ulysses.

He was born Dec. 1, 1936, in Crowell, Texas, to Grady T. and Dessie Evelyn Johnson Hinkle.

Mr. Hinkle was a heavy equipment operator for Popejoy Construction.

On April 7, 1956, he married Joan Bridwell in Johnson City. She survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Cindy LaFever and Mary Hinkle, both of Ulysses; a stepbrother, Elza Rogers of Wewoka, Okla.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Danny Hinkle; a great-grandson; and three brothers, A.W., Lawrence and Frank Hinkle.

Graveside service will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday at Ulysses Cemetery.

Visitation hours are 2 to 8 p.m. today at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses.

Memorials are suggested to the American Lung Association, in care of the funeral home, 405 W. Grant Ave., Ulysses, KS 67880.
