Jessie Rodriguez

Jessie A. Rodriguez, 89, of Garden City, died Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, at Garden Valley Retirement Village in Garden City.

She was born Aug. 27, 1923, in Garden City, to Esiquio and Maria Patricia Alonzo Rodriguez.

A lifetime resident of Garden City, she worked as a caregiver for the elderly in the Garden City community.

Survivors include a sister, Felisa Guadian of Garden City. She was preceded in death by her parents; six sisters, Carmen Rodriguez, Delfina Knight, Dolores King, Margaret Fira, Sue Rodriguez and Enedina Rodriguez; and two brothers, Jose and Frank Rodriguez.

Vigil service and rosary will begin at 7 tonight at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Garden City. Funeral Mass will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City.

Visitation hours are 2 to 8 p.m. today at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City. Condolences may be emailed to garnandfh@sbcglobal.net. Memorials are suggested to St. Dominic Catholic Church, in care of the funeral home, 412 N. Seventh St., Garden City, KS 67846.

Rodriguez Ladies

These women added a sense
of community to this town.They were blessed with long lives.
