Sue Ann Hernandez, 50, of Garden City, died Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City.
She was born Dec. 12, 1962, in Clayton, N.M., to Eusebio and Mary Sintas Martinez. She graduated from Garden City High School in 1981.
In October 1982, she married Avelino Hernandez in Garden City.
A Garden City resident since 1969, Mrs. Hernandez worked as a certified nurse's aide for Garden Valley Retirement Village in Garden City.
In addition to her husband, survivors include three sons, Abraham Hernandez of Satanta, and Anthony and Emilio Hernandez, both of the home; two daughters, Diane Hernandez and Heather Hernandez Cisneros, both of Garden City; two brothers, Bert and Randy Martinez, both of Garden City; two sisters, Victoria Martinez of Salina, and Pam Salazar of Brush, Colo.; and eight granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson.
Rosary will begin at 7:30 tonight at St. Mary Catholic Church, Garden City. Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
