ULYSSES — Dolly E. Thompson, 72, of Ulysses, died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center, St. Francis Campus in Wichita.
She was born Aug. 28, 1940, in Cogar, Okla., to Edward K. and Elsie Mae Fauver Hill. She graduated from Attica High School in Attica.
A teacher, she had taught at Skyline High School in Pratt and in Ulysses.
On Dec. 28, 1961, she married Robert L. Thompson in Woodward, Okla. He survives. Other survivors include a son, Chris Thompson of Salina; two daughters, Cynthia M. Schultz of Ulysses, and Carri L. Torchia of Arvada, Colo.; two brothers, Tom Polsley of Bethany, Okla., and Dr. Fred Hill of Sulpher Springs, Texas; and 13 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her stepfather, L.W. Polsley.
Vigil and rosary service will begin at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ulysses. Funeral Mass will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will follow at Ulysses Cemetery.
Visitation hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses. Memorials are suggested to the Mary, Queen of Peace Scholarship Fund or Grant County Scholarship Fund, both in care of the funeral home, 405 W. Grant Ave., Ulysses, KS 67880.
