MARIENTHAL — Joyce Adele Wonsetler Blau, 73, died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013, at Wichita County Health Center in Leoti, following a battle with melanoma cancer.
She was born July 8, 1939, in Syracuse, to Carl Jacob and Adele Earle Wonsetler. She was a 1957 graduate of Wichita County High School.
On Dec. 29, 1959, she married Charles "Chuck" Blau in Leoti. They farmed and raised cattle and later moved to the Wichita County farm where they have lived for 53 years. She worked alongside her husband, driving trucks, combines and keeping the books for their registered cattle business. She also drove a school bus for USD 467 for 38 years.
In addition to her husband, survivors include four children, Charla Dunn of El Dorado, Steven Blau of Wichita, Cynthia Mills of Iliff, Colo., and Trisha Blau of Fayetteville, Ark.; seven grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Lee Hughes Cannady of Glenrock, Wyo. She was preceded in death by her parents and a half brother, Carl Wonsetler Jr.
Funeral will begin at 2 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church in Leoti. Burial will be at Beulah Cemetery in northern Wichita County.
